A conspiracy refers to an agreement that takes place between two individuals or parties intending to achieve mutual advantage yet the deal is kept secret from the public. Therefore conspiracy theory in line with the 9/11 attack, defines the secret planning and even the execution of the 9/11 attacks. This tool is essential to the terror groups and is based on the discussions of the September 11 that shall be given in this presentation. Al-Qaeda terror group has been mentioned in this attacks that were made that they hijacked and even crashed the US Airline. They hacked 175 flight and American Airline 11 into the World Trade Center known as the twin towers and the American Airline 77 hitting the Pentagon (Brotherton & French, 2014). These two attacks led to the collapse of the twin towers and more considerable damage to the Pentagon (Aaronovitch, & Langton, 2010). The pre-warning attacks were given, but caution was not taken due to lack of proper communication between the agencies involved. Conspiracy theory has enabled several terror groups to succeed in their militia attacks, and as this paper shall lay it forth, there are blames that resulted from the attacks done by these groups. In this discussion, we shall consider in greater part the 9/11 attack and the reasons why the conspiracy theory worked out for the Al-Qaeda and other terror groups.
The 9/11 attack was successful because the plan of the attack was hidden from the people who were affected and as a result, there were many mixed reactions on the same subject. Therefore, it is true that conspiracy theory is as crucial as the tools they used to inflict pain on their victims because of the success it achieved in the 9/11 attack which to significant consequences to the nation.
Insiders trading suspects
There is a claim that before the 9/11 attack, an airplane crash occurred in the American Airline and United Airline and the insiders were associated with the incidence since they did no bets their safety belts (Michael, 2014). The analysis of this claim was the examination of the abnormal long volume indicated at a high level that was irregular on the day of the attack. The analysis also concludes that unusual market activity, which was consistent with the trading investors, offered a hint of their knowledge on that matter (Mashuri & Zaduqisti, 2015). According to the 9/11, the call ratio of trading on the airline on the days leading to the attack was coincidental (Brotherton & French , 2014). If this claim is valid, then the conspiracy theory was indeed crucial to the Al-Qaeda at this point that they could manage to buy both the silence and co-operation of the two Airline operators.
The theory of stand down of the Air defense
The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) was suspected to have issued an order of position down with an intention to give more time to the hijackers to reach the targeted points without interference (Brotherton, French, & Pickering , 2013). The NORAD was capable of identifying the location and intercepting the planes before the incidence and the failure to do this indicate that the government allowed the incidence to take place. The first actions, which were done by the hijackers, were to disable or turn off the board transponders of the four aircrafts. These transponders signals help to identify the tail number of the Airplane, the speed, and altitude of the plane (Aaronovitch, & Langton, 2010). Therefore, the hijackers plane caused glitches among the 4,500 other NORAD blips radar screens provided difficulty in tracking. The day of the attack, in 48 connecting nations only 14 jets for fighting were alert.
There was no way to automate the air controller traffic for the civilian to alert the NORAD. The passengers on that day had to call the NORAD literally with their phones, but there was only one civilian plane, which was intercepted over North America by the NORAD, which took one hour 19 minutes (Douglas, Sutton, Jolley, & Wood, 2015). The NORAD received the most extended warning of the hijackers 11 belonging to the American Airlines that was hijacked first. The FAA on the diverted flight immediately that the World Trade Center South Tower was crushed alerted the NORAD (Fekete, 2012). The FAA informed the NORAD about the missing Airline and not hijacked flight 77 only three minutes before it the crush. The NORAD was given a warning of flight 93 that it has been seized three minutes later after crushing Pennsylvania (Borell, 2016) . it proved that the terror group managed their conspiracy theory well making the US agencies to be in confusion not knowing what to do about the incidence.
The conspiracy of the Al-Qaeda led some of the Israelites in the US into trouble. There were claims that agents from Israel previously had knowledge concerning the attack (Oliver & Wood, 2014). Four hours after the attack incident, five Israelis who were captured from the top of the roof of a van parking in an apartment. The FBI arrested people who were smoking. (Oliver & Wood, 2014) They were videotaping what had happened, and one of the bystanders accused them because they appeared not shocked with that terror incident. They concluded that the Israelis had a foreknowledge of the attack. The FBI found out from the magazine of the Jewish news that those who were the operative intelligence of the Israeli were men. Therefore, they established that these Israelis were not aware of the attack as well.
World Trade Center (WTC)
The collapse of the seven World Trade Centre or the south and north tower occurred due to installation of explosives in the building before the attack. Various researchers explained that the resultant impact of the aircraft and the fire was not enough to initiate the final catastrophic collapse of the building and it could not have collapsed completely (Michael, 2014). According to Al Raffie (2013), the molten steel that was found in the rubble provided an evidence of explosives because the regular fire from the airplane could not have generated such heat. The uncertainties involved in this case indicate that the conspiracy theory employed in this attack was of great importance.
There are claims that the American Airline Flight 77 did not crush the Pentagon (Prooijen, 2016). They argue that there was a missile launch attack that was organized by individuals inside the government of the United States of America to hit the Pentagon. Further questions have been asked on basis of the pentagon hole. The plane had a width of 125 and the length of 155 while the pentagon hole was only 60 feet (Al Rafffie , 2013). While this claim was highly criticized since it does not have allegations as allegations founded by either American or the French press. This claim of the missile was disputed on the evidence of the airplane wreckages including the boxes of flight 7, the landing gear, nose cone, airplane tire and a cockpit seat that were intact.
In the middle of this confusion surrounding the aftermath of the attack, the names of those who were believed to be the hijackers were published and their identities released by the BBC (Swami & Furnham, 2014). The individuals whose name and status was given were found alive later, indicating that the support for the hijacking was fake. With all the mistaken identity by the media, the FBI and the CIA prove that the plan was well secured that the hijackers could not have been identified quickly and therefore, they all could enter and organize the attack in United States America legally without being noted (Wood, Douglas, & Sutton, 2012).
The Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence were accused of financially supporting the attackers, and the Israeli Mossad was other additional intelligence agency that helped the attackers. General Gul Hamid, who was the former Inter-service Intelligence head, believed people from within the United States of America planned the terror after the Israelis perpetrated into the country (Prooijen, 2016). The British journalist Anthony Summer claimed that the Saudi Royal Family aided the attack by the provision of the financial and material support that made the hijackers successful (Mashuri, & Zaduqisti, 2015). One of the insurance companies took a legal background with Saudi Arabia to refund it the money spent on the 9/11 attack because they had a hand in supporting them through funding the Al-Qaeda which promoted anti-Western claims (Wood, Douglas, & Sutton, 2012). With all the above-discussed issues of confusion and blames from the state agencies and the international community, it is evident that the conspiracy theory that was used by the attackers was of great importance for the achievement of all these attacks.
Religious terrrorism is customarily done on the basing of the goals and motivations of a religion that is predominant in its influence and character. Due to the decline of the ideas like the divine rights of the kings and the rise of the nationalism, anarchy has been the base of terror and political revolution (Douglas & Sutton, 2008). This increase in terrorist activities has been motivated by the religion since 1980. Symbolic acts that are very important are the linked to terrorism and religious violence. Throughout the history, religious and political perpetrators have always motivated suicide terrorism, martyrdom, or self-sacrifice (Douglas & Sutton, 2008). The traditions of Christians has for a long in the history of heretical groups. The groups have put a lot of effort on the acts of self-immolations and scholarship that are connected to the modern units of politics like the Irish Republic Army.
Suicide terrorism is inexpensive, efficient, organized easily yet it is challenging to counter, and it always delivers greater damage at a little cost. When the culture of torture is glorified, then many people will be inspired to join the group thus it benefits the terror organization (Aaronovitch, & Langton, 2010). Some of the regions or countries where religious terrorism has been planned and executed secretly exist in Rwanda, where the Roman church wanted to take over the government, and when the small tribe in that country protested against it, it leading to the death of many of many particularly the indigenous community (Douglas, Sutton, Jolley, & Wood, 2015).
In Saudi Arabia, there are several conspiracies organized against Christians living in that region, and many of the people find themselves in traps making them lose either their lives or freedom. In the African countries, several terrorists are linked to the religious extremism and enemity towards the government.
Another sccessuful conspiracy theory occurred during Bartholomew’s massacre day. In 1572 there was a wave of a mob violence from the Catholic, which was directed against the Huguenots during the religious war in France (Douglas & Sutton , 2011). The Queen who was the mother to Charles IX who was the king, this act was organized a few days when the King’s sister had wedded instigated this attack (Mashuri, & Zaduqisti, 2015). Many of the prominent and most wealthy Huguenots attended the wedding of the King’s sister, but they could be able to know the terror that was to befall them. The wedding took place on 18 August while the massacre was planned only five days later. It began on 23rd at night to 24th the same month this was just two days after an assassination attempt of Gaspard Coligny (Brotherton, French, & Pickering , 2013). There was an order that came from the King to kill the leaders of Huguenot, Coligny, and throughout Paris, this slaughter was continued which lasted for many weeks. This sacrifice was extended to the countryside and even the urban centers. The French war of religion was marked by this massacre that left 110,000-70,000 victims (Brotherton & French , 2014). This attack crippled the political movement of Huguenot due to the death of several of its prominent leaders.
From the discussion above, the conspiracy theory has been perceived and used by the terror groups as an excellent tool to inflict pain on their enemies in several ways. This conspiracy has enabled the terror groups to succeed in most of their attacks. This theory cannot work out without the terror group having connections with individuals within the targeted areas for more efficiency in the operation. The terror groups will always endeavor to do all in their power to keep their plans of attacks even by paying a considerable amount of money for their plans to go through. Most of the terror groups are based on the religious and political activities that instigate the attacks. The conspiracies also have limitations, and therefore all the terror must always lay down alternatives
